“Knight, do you have eyes on the house?”

“Affirmative. We have two friendlies inside.”

“Check your six,” Cazzo said over coms. “We’ve got a rogue agent walking around the property. Anyone have an ID?”

“Negative,” Knight answered. “No ID. Rocco, take him out.”

“Hold on,” I grumbled. “There are no hostiles in sight. How about we get this guy and figure out who he is before we kill him.”

“Copy that,” Cap answered. “No firing unless fired upon.”

I slipped through the darkness, following the man to the barn structure he just entered. Opening the door, I crept inside, my gun at the ready. I felt Hunter and Rocco behind me. I motioned for them to head left while I headed right. Swiftly, we moved through the darkness, not making any noise. Then the lights flicked on and I jerked around, looking for the threat.

Antonio was leaning against a wall along with the other guy, his arm crossed over his chest as he stared at us.

“Christ, Antonio. A little warning next time.”

“Derek, status update,” Cap barked.

“Clear. It’s just Antonio and some guy.”

“It’s about time you guys showed up,” Antonio snapped.

“Sorry, we were out in fucking Pennsylvania. It took us a while to get here. What’s this about anyway?”

The door swung open and the rest of Reed Security filed in. Knight pushed ahead to the front, glaring at the man standing beside Antonio. “Who the fuck is he?”

“This is Mason. He lives on the property.”

“And?” I asked, irritated with how long this was taking. “What’s the threat?”

“I have a bit of a situation, though it didn’t really require all of you to come out. I only needed Hunter.”

“You had my brother call and say it was a fucking emergency. What’s going on?”

“Ciara’s pregnant.”

We all stopped and stared at him, wondering where he was going with this.

“So, this has to do with her family,” Knight surmised.

“Mason and I handled them earlier today,” Antonio said calmly.

“Then what the fuck is the problem?”

“I needed a minister, someone I can trust.”

I glanced around at everyone else, all dressed in tac gear as we stood in his barn, thinking there was about to be a war with the mafia. And he was fucking saying that he was getting married?

“Are you fucking serious right now?” I bit out.

Antonio shrugged. “Like I said, I need someone I trust.”

“To perform a wedding,” Cap reiterated.

“Hey, you can’t just bring anyone into the fold. This is serious. Besides, until I’m sure of the fallout from taking out her father, no one else is coming onto the property. Didn’t you notice I left the gate open for you?”

Huffing in irritation, I ground out, “You can’t just drag us out here in the middle of the work day because you’re getting married! We have jobs. Not to mention, I thought the whole fucking way here that my brothers were in danger.”

“That’s because you assumed. I never said there was danger.”

“You said there was an emergency!” I exploded.

He frowned at me. “Did you not hear the part where I said Ciara’s pregnant? Anyway, it’s too late at night to do anything now.
